Life Happens

It has occurred to me that my life is not this blog and that Life Happens! Don't get me wrong...I love this blog and I LOVE photography! But as I sit here and realize that I haven't posted a daily photo [again] for the past few days...and I have a sick kiddo...and we are leaving in two days for two weeks [with no laptop for uploading]...that Life does get in the way sometimes and that's OK!
So, I will see you in two weeks...will be taking lots of photos and will hopefully have some great ones to share!

It's Beach Them Week over at iHeartFaces. I chose an older photo because I love it...not because it is a technically great photo...it wasn't even shot with my good camera. This one was shot with my P&S and the underwater housing. But I love the composition and perspective...I like the angle...and it was her very first trip to the beach! Rocks on the beach are so cool...especially when they are in Florida. We don't have many beaches with rocky coastlines and Florida certainly isn't known for it! It's a little different than the "normal" Florida beach!

It's been a while since I participated in these weekly contests hosted by iHeartFaces. It seems that the summertime has been very busy...we've either been too busy to focus on the weekly theme or we have been traveling. So this week, I am back...and maybe next week too...before we travel again.

These little feet belong to my daughter. These little feet love to run on the beach...love to play in the sand. These little feet helped her climb all over the rocks on this particular day. These little feet will grow into big feet. These little feet are going to take her places!

And here are my fixes...I tried to clone out the background distractions, and I clearly need more practice because I lost the sharpness on the edges of her body. Anyone have any tips on that??

Resolution

Apparently the summertime has not fard well for my little blog. You would think that it would provide the perfect opportunity for lots and lots of cool shots. But to be honest...It is so damn hot and sticky that I really have no desire to get outside for long periods of time! And the mosquitoes are worse this year than they have been in many years. We get bit just walking from the house to the car...not an exaggeration!

But here's my resoultion...I am going to start taking my camera every single place I go...even if it's just a mundane trip to the grocery store. We should have pic back up here soon. I am not going to post one of the "catch-up" posts...just going to start posting something (or trying to) every day again! See you soon.

So...I had great intentions when it came to the fireworks tonight! Half way there, I realized that I had forgotten my tripod. So, here is what I got...not great...but not terrible...especially considering every shot was hand held (and bulb). So here are the 5 photos I owe for Days 179-183. No great city scape in the background, but I di have a canal to catch reflections...pretty cool!

Happy 4th of July!

Can you tell it was steamy hot....I mean blazing!!! But we had fun and enjoyed the parade!

More pictures to come and I will fill in the missing days as promised!

So Behind

Apparently, I am having trouble keeping up with these post during the "Good Ole' Summertime." I promise there will be lots of photos added after tomorrow's festivities. Looking forward to some patriotic color and fireworks...here's to crossing fingers and toes that I get some good "Bang" photos.
