Fix It Friday #12

It's Fix It Friday...and the people over at iHeartFaces gave us a good one this week. This week's picture is of an odrable blue-eyed boy, but there are shadows on his face. Apparently, there is new software to alleviate this probelm, but I don't have it.

Here is the original:

So here are my fixes, done completely in PSE 5.0.

Fix #1 - this is my base. I did my best to remove the shadows and fill in the over-exposed cheek. I also lightend the entire image, played with the levels, and softened the skin a little. I worked off this image for all the other fixes.

Fixes 2 - 4
Same original edit, but with various cropping choices. For #4, I flipped the image first.

Fix 5 -
Simply desaturated the image...not color...not B&W.

The Fun Fix -
Added the overlay/texture and did some burning in the background

Make sure to check some of the other fixes over at iHeartFaces. Hope you enjoy!

Our names are strikingly similar, wow how cool!! I really like the last one alot. It's neat how you added the design onto the photo. Great job!!

You did a great job addressing the photo issues (shadows, light patch), and I love the overlay effect in the last picture.

I thought the second to the last one was perfect! It is so funny how everyone has a different one they like : ). It just goes to show that we are all different and photography is so subjective : ). Very nice edits!

You did a great job! I have been trying to figure out how to download a 'less pixeled' better quality picture to begin with. You did a great job with the sun spot on his face - I didn't take the time to do that, but see it makes a big difference.
